Steven Spielberg “moving” to the small screen? The project that inspired him

After a long and successful career on the big screen, Mr. Steven Spielberg he may also be involved in television.

A popular director of such films as “Jaws”, “Alien”. The Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, and others announced on the Smartless podcast that they plan to switch to television at some point in the future.

In the past, Spielberg has been involved in projects such as the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, which he executive produced, but he never directed an entire television series. But that will change in the coming years, he said. He even revealed that the award-winning Easttown Mare, starring Kate Winslet, is the program that will take him to the small screen.

“I love feature-length projects and one day I will be directing a feature-length series. If someone offered me the “Mare of Easttown”, I would accept. It was a very beautifully filmed series.”

AT “Eastown mare”, Kate Winslet played an emotionally fragile detective investigating a murder in the small town where she lives, just outside of Philadelphia. The mini-series had a huge rating and received an Emmy award, including for best mini-series. It seems Spielberg came very close to directing the HBO series when he wanted to turn Lincoln into a six-hour miniseries instead of a feature film.

“I wanted to present Lincoln as a six-hour television project. Nobody believed in this idea… I was rejected. I was going to make a deal with HBO to expand the story to six hour episodes. I had material. “I don’t know if I can get Daniel Day-Lewis to do six-hour episodes, but I was on the verge of doing it,” the director said.
