Russia’s appointment of the head of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov as the new head of the operation to invade Ukraine quickly affected the Russian army, according to Russian military correspondents who conduct propaganda in Telegram channels, the independent publication The Moscow Times notes.
Valery Gerasimov began to issue new orders that Russian propagandists do not like: he banned the use of modern technology, such as phones and tablets, thereby making it impossible to use drones, complain the propagandists of the Unofficial Bezsonov Z and Returning to War Z channels
Another military correspondent claims that several units were also banned from using drones during the war, barring them from dropping grenades from the drones.
Other propagandists report that the use of personal or donated vehicles has been banned, requiring the military to hand them over to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Channel Two Majors notes that the use of personal transport is due to the fact that the one that is supposed to be used by the military “is sitting on a stump because there are no engineers to fix it, no spare parts”.
Equipment, ammunition and food are transported by soldiers in personal four-wheel drive vehicles, explains the propaganda channel “Back to Z War”.
“Whoever writes all these orders in Moscow is surely on our side?” – wonders the military correspondent.
Military men have to cut their hair and shave at the front
At the same time, Russian servicemen were obliged to cut their hair, shave constantly and wear regular military uniforms, writes “Unofficial Bezsonov Z”.
“It is difficult to observe these things in the conditions of the front, to put it mildly,” says the author of the channel.
The introduction of new rules in the army coincided with the appointment of Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov as the commander of Russian forces in Ukraine.
A week ago, the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, dismissed Serhiy Surovikin from this position. Thus, Gerasimov became the fourth commander of the troops in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
British intelligence noted that the reshuffle at the top of the Russian military leadership testifies to Moscow’s problems in Ukraine.
The Pentagon also believes that Russia’s appointment of a new head of the operation to invade Ukraine most likely reflects “systemic challenges” for Russia.
Russia has announced “serious changes” in its armed forces
Russia, the world’s second largest army, announced on Tuesday that it would make “significant changes” to its armed forces from 2023 to 2026, vowing to reorganize its military structure after months of setbacks on the battlefield in Ukraine.
The message appeared on the day when Serhiy Shoigu announced that he had visited the military participating in the war in Ukraine, without specifying the exact location.
