The average annual temperature was 11.77°C, and the temperature deviation was 1.55°C compared to the average for the period 1981-2010.
The maximum temperature recorded in 2022 was +41.7 C in Calafat on July 23. There were many dry months and December was unusually warm compared to normal.

The period 1991-2020, which is considered the current reference climate period according to the recommendations of the World Meteorological Organization, records an increase in the level of the long-term average annual air temperature in Romania by 0.5 C compared to the previous period 1981-1981 in 2010, the ANM said.
At the decadal level, the largest increases in average air temperature occur in the last 2 decades (2001-2010 and 2011-2020), and the last 20 years often record daily, monthly, seasonal and annual temperature records, each of which broke previous records.
