In Romania, at the height of the season of respiratory infections, family doctors’ offices and emergency departments are stormed by hundreds of patients every day, many of them children.

Also, the first cases of fluron disease appeared – simultaneous infection with influenza and COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health has published several infographics with the symptoms of each disease and the specifics in the case of young children.

Parents whose children have symptoms of respiratory infections should contact their family doctor, office, or emergency room. The doctor will examine the child and prescribe the appropriate treatment.

If symptoms persist for more than three days or if the child’s condition worsens, parents should contact an assessment center. Children with severe symptoms or risk factors will be referred to trauma centers.
