
OMV Petrom will not pay the solidarity tax introduced by the Government at the end of last year with less than 75% of turnover in the defined sectors: crude oil production, natural gas production, oil production and production of refined products. .

According to the cited source, in the first 9 months of 2022, OMV Petrom has already paid royalties, additional taxes and other industry-specific contributions to the state budget of approximately 5.2 billion lei, to which is added approximately 1.6 billion lei in income tax.
In total, for the first 9 months of 2022, they represent approximately 60% of gross profit before tax and increased more than 6 times compared to the same period of the previous year.
At the end of last year, the government passed GEO (186/2022), according to which the additional profit of producers of crude oil, gas and oil refineries will be taxed at a rate of 60%.
The tax base is an amount that exceeds by more than 20% the average profit for the last four years.
The deadline for declaration and payment is by June 25 inclusive of the following year or by the 25th of the sixth month inclusive after the end of the changed fiscal year.
