
Wagner Group forces in Russia on Wednesday found the body of one of two missing British fugitivesin eastern Ukraine, Reuters reported in a statement from a private military firm.
She did not name the deceased, but said that documents belonging to two Britons were found on his body.
A photo posted alongside the statement shows passports bearing the names of Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Parry, two of the missing workers.
Ukrainian police said on Monday that they are looking for two missing people in eastern Ukraine, where fierce fighting has raged between Ukrainian and Russian forces.
“The body of one of them was found today. Together with him, documents on both Britons were discovered,” Wagner said in a message. He did not provide details of where the body was found.
Ukrainian police said the couple left the city of Kramatorsk for the city of Soledar on Friday morning and were reported missing on Saturday evening after losing contact with them.
In the press release of the Ukrainian police, the details of their volunteer activities are not reported.
“We are supporting the families of two Britons who have gone missing in Ukraine,” said a spokesman for the British Foreign Ministry.
