Naomi Osaka will not be competing at the 2023 Australian Open, but the former world number one and four-time Grand Slam winner has revealed she has a good reason: she is pregnant.

Naomi Osaka will become a mother

Yes, Osaka announced that she is expecting a child from her boyfriend Korde (a 25-year-old American rapper whose full name is Korde Amari Dunston).

“The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I believe that the hardest times in life are the most fun. Those few months away from the sport gave me a new love and appreciation for the game I have dedicated my life to. I realized that life is so short and I don’t take any moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and a new adventure.

I know there are so many things in the future, but I can’t wait to see my baby at one of my matches and say to someone, “That’s my mom,” haha.

2023 will be full of lessons for me and I hope to see you at the beginning of the next one because I will be at the Australian Open 2024. I love you all so much.

Note: I don’t believe there is a perfect path in life, but I’ve always believed that if you go forward with good intentions, you’ll eventually find your way.” – Naomi Osaka on Instagram.
