A 17-year-old Dutch man who was arrested in Oreokastro, Thessaloniki after his mother complained that he had sexually assaulted her underage daughter, was taken into custody. A criminal case was initiated against him on the fact of rape, which he denied during his testimony to the investigator.
However, the accusations did not convince him, and with the consent of the prosecutor and the investigator, a decision was made to place him in temporary detention. The complaint was filed by the Dutch mother of a minor patient in whose house the accused lived. According to her testimony, they were connected by friendly family ties, and therefore they adopted hospitality from him.
The 17-year-old was spotted on January 3 by Oreokastro police and arrested despite his attempt to escape, and a wood carving tool was found on him.
