It almost looks as if it fell from the sky and landed in the middle of the road: residents of the housing estate on the roundabout say life can be quite difficult here at times, WalesOnline reports, as quoted by the Mirror (no typical photos in the two papers).

Built right in the middle of a small roundabout, this complex presents a strange sight to oncoming drivers, with alleys descending from the four sections of the roundabout.

Waunllwyd Apartments are located in the heart of the interchange in Pennywaun, Wales and can accommodate up to nine families.

Far from the typical roundabout boasting only a few trees or billboards, the apartments are accessed via four different routes at street level – once you’ve passed through the surrounding traffic.

One resident, Chelsea, said living in the flat was sometimes “hard work”, especially when she had to avoid quite a lot of traffic when she took her young daughter to school, and was always worried about possible accidents.

“Cars come speeding down and so do school buses because there’s an elementary school nearby, so there’s about 10 school buses,” she said.

“It’s a little strange. I’ve lived here for two years and you get used to it,” Chelsea said WalesOnline.

Only two of the nine apartments have direct access, and the others can only be accessed from the corridor.

And since parking on the sidewalks is prohibited, residents are also forced to leave their cars on the other side of the surrounding road.

Another family in Wales has lived in a house in the middle of a busy roundabout for four decades and says they are at peace with the situation, reports Digi 24. The only real problems are rush hour and mail delivery.

Cluid Howatson says his parents bought the house when they were young and simply refused to move when the roundabout was built in 1980.
