
Health Minister Alexandru Rafila reiterated on Tuesday that there is no crisis of medicines containing ibuprofen and paracetamol in Romania, in the context of the wave of respiratory infections and the rush of many Romanians to the medicine during this period.
On Tuesday, Rafila held a meeting with drug distributors, at the end of which he announced that solutions are being sought so that “all pharmacies are provided.”
The Minister of Health claims that there is no real crisis in pharmacies in Romania regarding medicines containing the active substances ibuprofen and paracetamol, and blames the fact that certain trade names under which these medicines are found “are sometimes attractive” and are given prefer others to be available.
“Regardless of the trade name, which is sometimes attractive, it is important that the population has access to medicines containing the active substance ibuprofen and paracetamol,” the Minister of Health declared.
He also says that in the autumn period, the renewal of drug prices will also be discussed, due to the fact that “for other goods and services, an adjustment for the level of inflation has been made, and drug manufacturers should also benefit from this.”
The statements of the Minister of Health were made in the context of the fact that many Romanians complain that during this period they cannot find medicine for viruses or flu in pharmacies.
The Ministry of Health also recently published a a list of drugs – anti-thermic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral for influenza– for both children and adults, what he is talking about they can be found in pharmacies.
