AUR leadership on Saturday expelled from the party MP Dumitra Viorel Fokša, who attacked his wife during a domestic scandal, AUR said in a statement.
“The internal investigation conducted by the Honorary Jury of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians established that the accusations that appeared in the public space after the scandal that broke out in the house of the Fox family are confirmed. The gesture made by MP Dumitru Viorel Focha is incompatible with the quality of party membership and the dignity of a parliamentarian. The Alliance for the Union of Romanians publicly asks MP Fokša to respect his obligations and submit his mandate as a parliamentarian as a result of the sanctions received along the party line,” the statement reads.
According to the quoted source, AUR strongly rejects any form of domestic violence and disassociates itself from any character who practices, encourages or tolerates this form of manifestation.
AUR deputy Dumitru Foksha, who attacked his wife, published his own version on Facebook on Friday. Foksha blames his wife, whom he accuses of jealousy, and claims that the press writes “misfortune” and “untruth”.
