Netflix officially confirmed on Friday that “Wednesday,” the hit “Addams Family” series set in Romania, has been renewed for a second season.
The information was made public by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, producers of the series, in a message published on Tudum, Netflix’s platform for its fans.
“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the scary and strange world of Nevermore,” the couple said.
Millar pointed to the season one finale, when Wednesday receives an anonymous tip that Hyde’s threat is still real, as a hint of what fans can expect from season 2.
The announcement was accompanied by a video announcement that promises more “torture” from Wednesday in Season 2, with Jenna Ortega telling Tudum that the character she’s playing “will stand her ground and not try to please anybody.”
“Wednesday”, a phenomenal new series for Netflix
After being released on Netflix on November 16 last year Wednesday became the series with the best debut in the history of the streaming platform for an English-language series, reaching more than one billion hours of viewing in the following weeks.
