
Simona Halep (31, 10th WTA) tested positive for doping at the US Open and has been suspended since last October.
From the very beginning, Halep claimed that she did not knowingly take Roxadustat, but no details regarding the investigation are currently known.
The biggest problem in these anti-doping processes is their duration, says journalist Dragos Suchu.
“The problem with these anti-doping processes is that they are very long-term. It’s top secret, nothing is known, and this temporary suspension of Simona has been going on for about three months now. After all, if she is found innocent, who will give her back those three months? This is a situation that should be clarified,” Dragos Suchu said on the broadcast of the Liga Digisport show.
