On the epidemiological situation of the pandemic COVID-19 in China and its treatment and following the recommendations of the competent committee of the European Union, the preventive measures proposed EODI for our country are:

• Mandatory demonstration of a negative diagnostic test (rapid antigen or molecular test) for all travelers on direct flights from China 48 hours prior to departure.
• Genomic surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 in aircraft emissions from direct flights from China, as well as in Athens airport municipal effluents.
• Strengthening community surveillance of the SARS-CoV-2 genome for surveillance and early detection of any new variants
• N95/KN95/FFP2 increased protection mask recommendation for international passengers traveling to our country from China.
• Recommendation on the use of masks in general in airport areas for all travelers, regardless of destination, airport employees and airline workers.
• Vaccination recommendations with a focus on vulnerable populations for SARS-CoV-2 baseline and booster doses as recommended by the National Committee on Immunization.

“Based on recent developments in China, the above measures are proposed, which will be subject to periodic re-evaluation, and will be implemented within a certain period,” EODY said in a statement.
