The United States is looking at ways to target Iran’s drone production through sanctions and export controls, and is in talks with private companies whose parts were used in production, the White House said, as quoted by Al Jazeera.
“We are evaluating what additional export control steps we can take to limit Iran’s access to drone technology,” said Adrienne Watson, a spokeswoman for the White House National Security Council.
The United States previously imposed sanctions on companies and individuals accused of producing or transferring Iranian drones that Russia used to attack civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
