
Firefighters intervene on Wednesday to put out a strong fire with large smoke emissions, which broke out in a warehouse on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard, the intersection with the capital’s ring road, at the entrance to the Bucharest-Pitesti highway.
ISU Bucharest-Ilfov reported that there were no casualties. Initially, the affected area was 250 square meters, with the possibility of expansion to the entire warehouse, according to the first information, there were food products in the affected warehouse.
“The warehouse has been cordoned off, until now products and materials made of plastic, wood, and rubber were burning. The total area of damage is 800 square meters. There are no more proliferation opportunities,” ISU Bucharest-Ilfov said.
Flammable substances are stored in the immediate vicinity, ISU notes. Initially, eight fire engines were sent to the scene, later the brigades were supplemented by four more.
