Mahiedin Mehissi ends an impressive career in athletics

As reported by the French newspaper l’Equipe, the athlete, who has reached the age of 37, has decided to end his career, he no longer has the necessary motivation to continue.

“I’m stopping because I don’t want to anymore. I no longer feel like working out. I felt it was time to stop working.”

A true specialist in the 3000m steeplechase, Mahieddin Mehissi has an impressive track record: three Olympic medals (silver in 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London, bronze in 2016 in Rio) and two medals at the World Championships (bronze in 2011 and 2013), within one sample.

Mahiedin Mehissi won the European Championship 4 times (2010, 2012, 2016, 2018) and once in 1500 meters (2014) in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Starting in 2018, injuries caused him a lot of trouble, and the athlete ceased to be a regular on the international stage, which is why he decided to end his career.
