He passed away at the age of 77 Notis Mavrudisan award-winning composer and guitarist with over half a century of uninterrupted presence in Greek music.

The artist was mortally wounded on the evening of January 3, 2023 at his home in Kukurawa in Pelion, when he fell from a height of three meters. “If anything characterized our father Noti Mavrudis as a person, it was his kindness, morality and modesty. We also humbly inform you of his sudden death. His civil funeral will take place in Chalandri in the coming days. Vasso’s wife, his children Rodis and Haris and grandchildren Jason, Ariadne, Elli and Odysseus,” Haris’ son Mavrudis wrote on Facebook.

Notis Mavroudis was born in 1945. He spent the first two years of his life in prison next to his mother, who was a political prisoner. In 1958 he began guitar lessons at the National Conservatory. with Prof. Dimitris Faba and graduated with honors in 1969. In 1970 he settled in Italy, where he was assigned the chair of classical guitar at the Scuola Ciciva di Milano, where he taught until 1975. In 1970 he also attended courses at the Accademia de Santiago de Compostella in Spain with José Tomás. In 1975 he settled permanently in Athens and from that year on he taught classical guitar at the National Conservatory. As a composer and soloist, he gave many solo concerts in many countries (Greece, Italy, Finland, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Cuba). As a professor at the Athens National Conservatory, he had several popular artists as students such as Manolis Androulidakis, Sokratis Malamas, Panagiotis Margaris, Giorgos Melas, Lambros Dousikos, Dimitris Sotiropoulos, etc.
