A man from Bistrita-Năsăud was arrested and accused by DIICOT prosecutors of repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl, whom he then blackmailed with videos of sexual acts. He would send the footage to the child’s parents, as well as the teacher.

DIICOT announced on Wednesday the arrest of a man on charges of child pornography, rape, blackmail, domestic violence, aggravated theft and uttering threats.

According to prosecutors, between March and December 2022, the man allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl, videotaped the sexual acts and used and shared the video to blackmail the victim into meeting him.

The man is accused of luring the girl to an isolated place and raping her, filming it on a mobile phone, in October under the pretext of returning a stolen dog. The footage was later shared by the girl’s parents and a teacher. Also, during December, he allegedly threatened the girl and her mother with death.
