In 2022, which ends in a few days, emissions and concentrations of greenhouse gases continued to rise, according to stations on the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Global Atmosphere Watch network. The planet is on track for a 2.4 to 2.6 degree Celsius temperature increase by 2100, according to the latest UN Environment Program analysis.
Using this data, HELLENiQ ENERGY, the largest energy group in South East Europe, aims to become a low CO energy solutions provider.2reducing our carbon footprint by 50% by 2030.
In this context, EKO ABEE, a member of the HELLENiQ ENERGY Group, aims for zero CO2 emissions.2 when operating its own network of service stations with EKO and bp marks, it implements a certified – in accordance with the international standard ISO50001: 2018 – Energy Management System and implements a number of measures in its network of self-managed service stations aimed at the lowest possible energy consumption during their operation, which will come exclusively from renewable energy sources (RES).
In particular, a set of measures is being implemented, including:
-reducing the energy consumption of gas stations through the installation of new internal and external LED lighting, high-energy class air conditioners, as well as energy-efficient refrigerators
– installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of gas stations for the purpose of independent production and consumption of “green” energy
– the use of green certificates for residual energy consumed by gas stations, which guarantee that this energy comes from RES.
All of the above activities help achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions from the operation of the Group’s filling stations.
It is noted that ECO is the only company in its industry that applies in all its activities an integrated, certified Quality, Health, Environment and Energy Management System (in accordance with international standards ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) and therefore, KALYPSO is the only gas station company with these four certifications.
