The video, which appeared on social networks, shows how soldiers of the “Azov” regiment honored the memory of their comrades who died in battle.
The video was found on TikTok by Tadeusz Gitsan, a Belarusian journalist and researcher at the Center for European Political Analysis, who noted that soldiers of the Azov Regiment burned a Viking ship on the night of December 22, when the winter solstice occurred this year.
I found a video on TikTok of how the Ukrainian Azov Regiment honors its fallen comrades on the longest night of the year two days ago. They burned the damn Viking ship! pic.twitter.com/kTSwOmkC0z

The unique commemoration, it seems, was organized on the initiative of a part of the Ukrainian military, the footage is not distributed on the official page of the “Azov” regiment.
The Azov Regiment was reformed in late May in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv after its fighters surrendered in the middle of the same month in Mariupol following the defense of the Azovstal plant, the last Ukrainian stronghold in the port city on the Sea of Azov. siege, which flew around the international press.
Subsequently, several video recordings of combat operations of the regiment’s soldiers appeared on social networks, in which the equipment of the unit was seen, including during the recapture of the western bank of the Dnieper after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson.
The heroes of Azovstal, including the commanders of the Azov Regiment, were released by Russia on September 22 in a swap in which Moscow received Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk, a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
