Bulgarian journalist Kristo Grozev from the investigative website Bellingcat shared a video in which members of Wagner’s mercenary group tell the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov that he is useless, saying that he is “damn”, the fighters are upset that they do not have enough artillery shells.
The video purportedly shows how fighters of the “Wagner” PMC, financed by Yevgeny Prigozhin, in the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, the hottest point of the entire front at the moment, turn to Valery Gerasimov and say: “You bastard! Where are the shells? We have no more shells here.”
“Wagner’s” mercenaries called the chief of the General Staff of the Russian Ministry of Defense “crap” on camera. “You shit ..where are the shells? We have no more shells here [at Bahmut]”.
Prigozhin says he has “nothing to say about this video,” essentially endorsing the attack on Gerasimov. pic.twitter.com/wObdezaHmZ— Christo Grozev (@christogrozev) December 26, 2022
Grozev reports that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Russian businessman who founded Wagner’s group, said he had “nothing to say about the video,” which the Bulgarian journalist said meant the Putin ally was essentially endorsing the attack on Gerasimov.
In the Donetsk region, fierce fighting has been going on between Ukrainian forces, who are trying to defend the city of Bakhmut and gain a foothold in the east, and Russian forces, who have been attacking for months in an attempt to capture it.
On the eve of Christmas, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported three missile attacks, 10 aerial attacks and 62 attacks from rocket salvo systems in the Bakhmut area.
Russia has increased the number of troops, weapons and military equipment that are transferred to the front line in Ukraine by rail, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Friday, Ukrainian Pravda reports.
