Faithless Maxi Jazz frontman has died at the age of 65.

The news was made public on Faithless social media, causing grief to dance and electronic music fans around the world.

Sister Bliss, one of the group’s three members, tweeted that the charismatic singer passed away peacefully in his sleep at his South London home.

“Sending love to all of you who have shared our musical journey with us. Take care of each other,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Facebook post read: “We are devastated to report that Maxi Jazz passed away last night. He was a man who changed our lives in many ways.”

“He gave the right meaning and message to our music.

“He was a wonderful person who found time for everyone and had wisdom that was both deep and accessible. It was an honor and, of course, a real pleasure to work with him.

“He was a brilliant lyricist, DJ, Buddhist, great stage presence, car enthusiast, tireless public speaker, handsome man, moral compass and genius.”

Maxi Jazz and Faithless

Maxi Jazz’s real name was Maxwell Frazier. He was born in 1957 and started his musical career in 1984 as a DJ.

Faithless was founded in 1995 by Maxi Jazz, Rollo and Sister Bliss. They are considered among the pioneers of electronic, dance and trance music. They have played countless concerts around the world and have taken part in some of the most iconic music festivals such as Glastonbury.

Maxi Jazz was a member until 2011 but returned briefly in 2015.

He was a car enthusiast and collector, and his great love was the Crystal Palace football team. In fact, since 2012, he has become its deputy president.
