On Friday, a car was blown up in the center of the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, occupied by Russians, Ukrainian Pravda and TASS report. The information was confirmed by the Mayor of Ukraine Ivan Fedorov and the pro-Russian regional representative Volodymyr Rogov. The number of victims and their condition is unknown.

“A strong explosion occurred in the center of Melitopol. According to eyewitnesses, a car driven by Russians exploded. Regarding the passengers and their condition, the information is being clarified!”, wrote Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of Melitopol.

Volodymyr Rogov, an official appointed by Moscow in the Russian-controlled part of the Zaporizhzhia region, wrote in Telegram that, according to preliminary information, at 12:13 a.m. in the center of Melitopol, at the entrance to Gorky Park, a car was blown up.

As a result of the explosion of a Renault Duster car in the center of Melitopol, two people were injured, Rogov said later.

Videos and photos of the explosion are circulating on social networks, and some Russian sources claim that “saboteurs blew up a car in which two employees of the Russian special services were sitting. Both were seriously injured, one had a limb torn off,” but at the moment the information has not been confirmed by officials.
