
A 17-year-old Bulgarian citizen was arrested yesterday morning in Lefkoya, Drama, because, according to police, together with his accomplice, they broke into the holy temple, but did not manage to take anything out of its interior.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that the alleged perpetrators also broke into the four holy temples in the wider area, taking various amounts of money from bankers and safes while they remained in the country illegally.
The detainee was found to have hacking tools, which were confiscated. He was prosecuted in well-known cases of theft and violation of the Aliens Act. The case file also includes his 28-year-old accomplice, also a citizen of Bulgaria, whose details have been established and are being sought. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Police Department of Kato Nevrokopi, Drama.
