
9000 will be on foot police officers to ensure security during the Christmas period, as decided by a meeting held today with the participation of the Minister for the Protection of Citizens Takis Theodorikakos, Deputy Minister Eleftherios Oikonomou, Commander of the Greek Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Skumas and senior police officers.
In particular, a comprehensive security plan was discussed with the implementation of additional measures during the Christmas period, and it was decided to increase the police presence with increased patrols in shopping malls, holiday venues and in crowded parts of city centers, while in the streets will have an active presence of traffic police to regulate the movement of vehicles and carry out breathalyzer checks at night.
The Greek police force, which will be deployed throughout the country, is 9,000 police officers.
