Dacia Spring has found 10,000 customers in Romania, being the first electric model to reach this threshold in the local market. The spring, made in a factory in China, costs 22,100 euros without the application of subsidies, while at the time of launch the price was 18,300 euros.

The spring is manufactured at a plant in Shiyang, Hubei Province, a plant that Renault jointly owns with Dongfeng Motor Group (China) and Nissan. The joint venture was established in August 2017. Dongfeng owns 50% of the shares, and Renault and Nissan each own 25%.

The Spring is the first Dacia model produced in China, a country that is able to assemble electric vehicles at significantly lower costs than in Europe.

There are approximately 25,000 fully electric cars in Romania

Since its launch in autumn 2020, Dacia Spring has registered more than 110,000 orders internationally, of which almost 70,000 have been delivered to customers in 30 countries, the vast majority in Europe, Dacia says.

At the end of November, the most Dacia Spring cars were registered in France (almost 29,000 units) and Germany (over 14,000 units).

Bohdan Luka from Bucharest is the name of the owner of the 10,000th Dacia Spring car sold on the Romanian market.

The white car, which showcases the new visual identity of the Dacia brand, was purchased as part of the Rabla Plus national fleet renewal program.

The Dacia Spring is the clear leader of the EV market in Romania, currently accounting for more than 50% of sales in this segment, Dacia says.
