Police from Hunedoara announced that they have arrested two men, aged 31 and 33, who allegedly broke into a family from the town of Pestishul Mare in September. They tied the hands and feet of the woman and her two grandchildren aged 8 and 10 and taped their mouths shut. The thieves allegedly asked the woman for a small recipe that the family uses in their sausage and meat business, and they eventually left with 37,000 lei, some jewelry, watches and other goods.
On Monday, Hunedoara police officers conducted five searches at the residences of two men suspected of deprivation of liberty and qualified robbery.
According to a press release sent on Tuesday by the Hunedoara County Police and quoted by News.ro, on September 3, two men broke into a house in the Peshtishul Mare district of Hunedoara, where they grabbed a 64-year-old woman and his two grandchildren, ages 8 and 10.
The two allegedly tied the hands and feet of the victims and taped their mouths shut, after which they stole 37,000 lei, several jewels, watches and other items from the house. The men then fled, leaving the victims tied up, who were soon found by a family member who called the police.
According to the police, the investigation was difficult because at the time of the attack, the faces of the two robbers were covered by hoods.
After establishing the identity of the two men, they were detained for 24 hours to be brought to court with an application for a preventive measure.
