In a particularly festive atmosphere, with melodies and carols, iridescent Field of MarsRegional Governor of Attica George Patulis lit the Christmas tree, opening the festive events organized by the region of Attica, so that all citizens, especially children, can fully enjoy the atmosphere of the days until January 5th.

From the very heart of Athens, the Capital Park of Our Heart, as Mr. Patoulis called the Field of Mars, wished that the spirit of Christmas touched all citizens, instilling optimism and hope for the future. In addition, he added, it also promises the end of the pandemic, a new era with more light, joy, creation, unity and solidarity.

“Our vision is to make the Attica region the first region in the country and one of the first in Europe. The whole of Attica is a construction site with projects, actions and interventions. In unity and solidarity, we all move forward together towards a better tomorrow for us, for our children, for all of us,” the regional governor said, inviting the townspeople to this great holiday of joy.

Referring to the rich holiday program and the central slogan of the theme park “PARKS of joy are here”, Mr. Patulis noted that “for all of us, culture and its manifestations are a dynamic element of vitality and joy that we sorely need. The region of Attica is once again close to every citizen during the holidays this year, with activities meant for everyone, especially children, completely free of charge.”

Mr. Patulis had previously toured the booths and stalls of the open market, exchanging greetings with merchants, vendors and citizens.

The event was accompanied by the Philharmonic and the choir of the region, who sang carols, and the event was attended by the vice-governor of the region for culture, Harry Romascompetent commissars, district councils and a crowd of people.
