On December 19, Russian troops launched 35 Iranian kamikaze drones into Ukraine, as a result of which three people were injured. Thirty drones were shot down.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitsyko, the attack caused damage to Kyiv’s infrastructure.

In October, Zelensky announced that Russia had ordered more than 2,400 Iranian-made attack drones. In December, the EU and Canada imposed sanctions against Iran for supplying drones to Russia.

Since early October, Russia has repeatedly attacked critical infrastructure in Ukraine with missiles and drones, killing dozens of people and causing blackouts.
