Dani Alves and Romario congratulated Lionel Messi on winning the World Cup in Qatar

The most decorated player in history, Dani Alves (who was part of Brazil’s national team at the competition in Qatar) had nothing but praise for his former colleague from FC Barcelona.

“I don’t care what they tell me…Lionel Messi, you bastard, this world loved you, football loves you and those of us who love football respect you and congratulate you on this moment. Enjoy it with your family and those celebrating with you. As a Brazilian and a South American, I know that it means more than winning the cup. LONG LIVE FOOTBALL AND LONG LIVE THOSE WHO LOVE THIS SPORT!” – Dani Alves on Instagram.

The 1994 World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner Romario also mentioned Diego Maradona in his message.

“The match was a great tribute to football, sports. It was impossible not to get emotional in this final, which was contested until the last shot, until the last penalty. It was historic! Argentina were better on the field and today Messi got the title he was missing, a world title for his country. It is worth remembering that this victory marks the end of a 36-year drought for Argentina. I am sure that my friend Maradona is happy with this victory, as are his men. Congratulations, Argentina!” – Romario on Instagram.
