Pele recalls that the relegation from Croatia was a strong blow and believes that defeats in football are exacerbated by the suffering of an entire nation, writes Marca.

What we do with it depends on each of us. Sometimes we do it right, sometimes we do it wrong. After the victory, we celebrate. After defeat, we learn. Life is always generous and offers new beginnings.

Every day we start a new journey. And in this cycle, we nurture our dreams that never die, despite the difficulties that come our way. When your dream is to become a football player, opportunities are rarer and dreams are more distant. Difficulties are no less painful than any other.

However, football players are judged by many people, right? And to be honest, victories are celebrated a lot.

Despite the pain we feel after being eliminated from the World Cup, I ask Brazilians to remember the path to the five stars we have on the shirt. Love is what motivates us. I don’t know what makes us so crazy about football. Is it the love of friendship and unity around sports, the love of a cause or the fact that you forget your problems for 90 minutes.

Maybe it’s the desire to overcome poverty, hunger, drugs, maybe that’s what makes us such a great country. It doesn’t matter the reason. What matters is that the fans have united us at a time when we desperately need unity. And I dream that this feeling between football players and the country will not pass. This goal may seem impossible.

However, when I was a young child, I had a dream that seemed impossible: to win the World Cup for my father. If we talk about dreams, he does not think that the dreams of our football players are over. I know he dreams of adding a sixth star. Mission postponed.
