Sergio Busquets has officially finished his career with the Spanish national team

34-year-old Sergio Busquets made his debut in the Spanish national team jersey on April 1, 2009 in a World Cup qualifying match against Turkey (2:1).

No fewer than 143 games were played by the Barcelona midfielder for Furia Roja, for which he won twice.

Busquets wore the captain’s armband of the Spanish national team at the World Cup in Qatar.

“I want to announce that after almost 15 years and 143 games, it’s time for me to leave the national team.

It was an honor for me to represent my country, to lead it to the top, to be the world and European champion, to be the captain and to play so many games, achieving more or less success, but always giving everything,” Sergio Busquets wrote on his official Instagram account.
