Former US President Donald Trump will publish a book next year in which he will reveal correspondence with celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Princess Diana and Elton John, in the context of which opinion polls put him far behind the governor of Florida in preferences. Republican electorate, reports CNN.

According to the American TV channel, this work will offer reproductions of letters from Trump or received by the former president and will offer “readers a more intimate intrusion into his private life and social circles.”

Donald Trump has already mentioned some of these letters. In a 1997 interview with Howard Stern, he revealed that he received a “very nice” letter from Princess Diana thanking him for a favor he allegedly did for her.

“She wrote me a letter a few months before she died to thank me for the services I had done for her,” he said. “He wrote me a very nice letter.”

It is not known whether the book will include letters sent by Trump to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

This book, the title of which is not yet known, will be the second for Donald Trump after the end of his term of office. It will be published by Winning Team Publishing, founded by his eldest son, Don Jr.

The decline of Donald Trump’s popularity

The former US president’s decision came as the last major US opinion poll showed him trailing Florida governor Ron DeSantis, including among Republican voters.

A poll conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University confirms that Trump’s popularity among voters and supporters of the Republican Party is in free fall, which is not the case for the policies that the American tycoon pursued during his tenure.

Among possible Republican candidates, the Florida governor is the favorite, with 56% of those polled supporting him, compared to 33% for Trump, a 23 percentage point difference in favor of Ron DeSantis.

“Republicans and independent conservatives increasingly want a Trumpism without Trump,” David Paleologos, director of Suffolk University’s Center for Policy Studies, told USA Today.

Trump officially filed for the 2024 presidential election on Nov. 16, but analysts expect him to face stiff competition in the Republican primary after numerous candidates he supports lost in last month’s congressional midterm elections.
