
The Russian military loaded the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile into a launch shaft in the Kaluga region, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on Wednesday, TASS reports.
The Ministry of Defense released a video on the occasion of this event on the eve of Russia’s Strategic Missile Defense Day.

“This operation is important because it will allow one more ballistic missile to be put into combat service, as it was planned,” said the commander of the Kozelsk missile complex Oleksiy Sokolov, TASS reports.
“The motherland will receive another sample of nuclear weapons that will allow us to solve any tasks at the strategic level,” said the commander of the “Kozelsky” missile complex, Oleksiy Sokolov, in a video released by the ministry, according to CNN.
The announcement of Russia’s ICBM deployment comes after reports that the Biden administration is finalizing plans to send an advanced long-range air defense system to Ukraine to help counter Moscow’s attacks.
