
Proceedings of the prosecutor’s office’s investigation into complaints against monitoring Conversations between politicians and others were recorded yesterday as prosecutors handling relevant cases ordered raids on companies linked to the malicious Predator Software.
Autopsy areas were carried out by order of the prosecutor cybercrimeafter the information reached the prosecutor’s office that there may be conclusions useful for the investigation of the whole case.
The National Intelligence Service is asked to confirm or deny what is reported in publications from time to time.
At the same time, the prosecutorial actions that took place in recent days with the direction of a written official request to EYPto answer whether the names of politicians, journalists and others who came to light as being under surveillance are true. The request to EYP is signed by prosecutors Angelica Triantafyllou and Konstantinos Spyropoulos, who are in charge of the investigation, and the response to it could provide useful information for the case.
At the request of the prosecutor, National Intelligence Service asking to confirm or deny the monitoring of what is mentioned from time to time in publications (mainly the newspapers “Documento”), without being asked to refer – which is illegal – to the reasons for monitoring, if it is for national security reasons. However, – explained “K” sources in the prosecutor’s office that EYP should respond but may decide that the request will not be answered. And while the request is indeed a major development in the surveillance investigation, as of late evening, it remained unknown whether the raids on a total of six malware companies had led to any significant findings.
However, it is worth noting that last summer, when the surveillance revelations began, the Communications Privacy Service searched the Intellexa and found two broken chairs and an overturned table. However, the prosecutor’s office continues to interrogate witnesses – either employees of companies that are somehow connected with malware, or EYP executives who are familiar with the case being investigated.
