No energy facilities were damaged early Wednesday morning after a Russian kamikaze drone attack on Kyiv and the region near the Ukrainian capital, Reuters reported in the operator of the national power grid, Ukrenergo.

Since October, Russia has inflicted large waves of missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

“Thanks to the brilliant work of the air defense forces, the energy infrastructure facilities were not damaged – all 13 drones were shot down,” Ukrenergo reported.

“Very good, I’m proud of you,” Zelenskyy said in a video speech, The Kyiv Independent reports.

The Kyiv leader also called on Ukrainians not to ignore reports of airstrikes and to hide.

On Wednesday morning, Russia attacked Kyiv with Shahed-136 and Shahed-131 kamikaze drones of Iranian production.

The buildings were damaged, there were no casualties

As a result of shelling, five buildings were damaged in the Shevchenkiv district of the center of Kyiv, Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, said.

A house was also damaged in the village of Vyshneve, Kyiv region, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko said.

Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Russia also used Iranian drones to attack Kyiv’s energy infrastructure. In October, the first such attack took place on a residential building in the center of Kyiv, killing three people, including a pregnant woman.
