Italy’s antitrust regulator announced on Tuesday that it had opened an investigation into alleged illegal behavior in electricity and natural gas price-fixing targeting seven energy companies, including Enel and Eni, Reuters reported.
The participating companies, including Hera, Edison, A2A, ACEA and French group Engie, represent around 80% of the Italian market, the antitrust regulator said.
The agency suspended contracts from August 10, 2022, to April 30, 2023, which allow companies to change prices, in violation of the government’s August 9 ruling.
The institution’s decision excludes price changes that were already in effect before the application of the resolution. (Agerpress)
