George Simion reacts after journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu reported that the AUR leader was met with hostility on Saturday at the Gaudeamus fair. Simion gives his own version, claiming that he stayed at the book fair for about two hours, during which he greeted and “was met by hundreds of people” and bought books “in the field of history and politics.” He also says that he left because he was in a hurry.

Simion qualifies the story of Cristian Tudor Popescu as fake news and denies that he was accompanied by bodyguards, saying that he was accompanied by three party members.
