On Monday, Twitter will reinstate a higher-priced version of its Twitter Blue subscription service for Apple users, the company said in a tweet.

The company said the service will allow subscribers to edit tweets, upload 1080p videos and receive a blue tick after verifying an account for $8 per month via the web and $11 per month via Apple iOS.

Twitter has not explained why Apple users are charged more than others, but there have been media reports that the company has been looking for ways to offset the fees charged by the App Store, Apple’s store.

Twitter initially launched Twitter Blue at the beginning of November and then discontinued it due to the proliferation of fake accounts. It was then scheduled for November 29, but was postponed.

Elon Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion in November, listed various complaints about Apple in a series of tweets last month, including the 30 percent commission the iPhone maker charges software developers for in-app purchases.

He then accused Apple of threatening to block Twitter from its app store and said the iPhone maker had stopped advertising on the world’s richest man’s social media platform.

.However, after a subsequent meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook, he tweeted that the misunderstanding over the removal of Twitter from the US giant’s app store had been resolved.

Both Twitter and Apple did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
