The debate in the Supreme Court on the issue of a stay of execution of a sentence of 10 years in prison imposed on a broker for causing fatal bodily harm in the case of the death of an activist has been postponed to January 25, 2023. Zach Costopoulou.

The G Criminal Division of the Supreme Court granted the motion for a stay due to obstruction by the defendant’s lawyers.

Following this development, the defendant will be at large pending trial at the Court of Appeal for the death of Zach Kostopoulos, which is set for January 20, 2023.

The victim’s family was present at the Supreme Court today pending an appeal against the decision to suspend the sentence, as it was found to be “missing the required specific and detailed justification.”

Recall that the accused was released from custody two months after his conviction with restrictive conditions of a ban on leaving the country and a monthly appearance at the police station.
