On Wednesday, the Romanian Academy will present awards for the most valuable scientific and artistic works produced in 2020, among the laureates of which are director Christi Puiu, actor Marcel Iures, art critic Pawel Shushara and director of the Rural Museum Paula Popoiu. .

The event will take place in the hall of the prestigious consecration forum, starting at 10:00, in the presence of members of the General Assembly.

Director Cristi Puiu will receive the Aristizza Romanescu Award for Malmkrog, while actor Marcel Jures will receive the same award for Cycle of Resistance through Theater (Act Theater productions, online broadcast in 2020, directed by Alexandru Dabiža) and Rosto” (staged in 2020, premiere in 2021, directed by Alexandru Dabija).

Art critic Pavel Shushara will be awarded the “Lucian Blaga” prize for the work “Brâncuşi”, and the director of the Village Museum, Paula Popoui, will receive the “Simion Florea Marian” prize as a co-author of the work. “Portul popular din Câmpia Munteniei in the collections of the National Rural Museum “Dimitrie Gusti” by Georgeta Stoic and Georgiana Onoiu.

Among the award winners are the writer and literary critic Andrey Resuchana – the “Ion Kreange” award for the work “Wind, Spirit, Breath”, the literary critic Iryna Petrash – the “Titu Maiorescu” award for the volume “Eyes of Coins”” and the translator Giorgii-Valentyn Volchanov – The “Lucian Blaga” award for the work “Return to the Great Will or Revision of the Shakespearean Canon.”

According to the regulations, the prizes are awarded within 14 scientific sections of the Romanian Academy, namely: literature and philology, history, mathematics, physics, chemistry, technical sciences, information technologies, biology, medicine, agronomy, forestry, sociology, psychology, philosophy, art , theater and musical arts.

During the event, the Romanian Academy will award an Academic Merit diploma and four Cultural Distinction diplomas.
