
OUR Samsung Electronics appointed a woman for the first time to head international marketing in the mobile phone division.
According to the Yonhap news agency, Lee Yang-hee has become the first female president of Samsung.
Lee Yang Hee is the daughter of Lee Kun Hee, the former head of Samsung Electronics. He joined his strength technological giant in 2007, and in 2012 he took over as Vice President.
She also worked for L’Oreal and is known for the successful marketing of Samsung Galaxy mobile phones.
Samsung hopes that her promotion will encourage other talented women to develop professionally.
She is one of seven new chairmen appointed as part of a minor restructuring of the company after Lee Jae Young, the company’s de facto leader, became chief executive in October.
