Protests will be banned in places such as government buildings, universities, schools, anywhere near churches, airports and ports, train stations and vital infrastructure, state news agency RIA said on Monday.

Previously, protests were prohibited near presidential residences, courts, prisons and emergency services.

Regional authorities may additionally introduce other bans on holding demonstrations on “historical, cultural and other objective grounds.”

Putin signed almost 50 laws on Monday, RIA reports.
