Russian President Vladimir Putin personally visited the Crimean Bridge on Monday after it was reopened to traffic, Reuters reported, citing Russian news agencies.
In a video published by Kremlin Pool’s official page, Kremlin-accredited journalists, the Russian president can be seen visiting the Crimean Bridge, also known as the Kerch Bridge, driving a Mercedes Benz.

The TASS agency notes that Putin was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who reported on the repair work. Husnullin is the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, responsible for public works and regional development.
“We drive on the right side. The left part of the bridge, as I understand it, is in working condition, but it still needs to be completed. It is still a little damaged, we need to bring it to an ideal condition,” Putin commented on the trip in an excerpt that was broadcast by the Rossiya-24 TV channel and quoted by the largest Russian financial newspaper, Kommersant.
By the way, the news about the visit of the leader from the Kremlin to the Crimean bridge is the main one on all Russian press sites.
Interfax, another Russian state news agency, quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that Vladimir Putin also had a “brief conversation with workers working on the bridge.”
“Putin emphasized the importance of the land route connecting Crimea with the rest of Russia,” Peskov said, referring to the territories illegally annexed by Moscow in 2014.
