On Monday, the USR asked the offices of both houses of parliament to start the process of recalling Nikolaj Badelau from his position in the Chamber of Accounts following his DNA detention.
Soon after, PSD spokesman Stefan Radu Oprea announced that the Social Democrats had submitted a request on Monday to the joint permanent bureaus of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to start the recall procedure from the post of member and vice president. the court of accounts of Nikulai Bedalau, a DNA suspect in bribery, because there was no release from him.

Former PSD senator Nicolae Bedalau, vice-president of the Audit Authority of the Chamber of Accounts, was pre-arrested on Monday by the Bucharest Court of Appeal. The court approved DNA’s proposal regarding the preventive arrest of Nikulai Bedalau, the preventive measure was set for 30 days.
The prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate – Anti-Corruption Division issued an order to open a criminal case and detain for 24 hours, starting on November 27, Niculae Bădălău during the events, the advisor of accountants in the Court of Accounts of Romania and the Vice-President of the Audit Authority in the same institution, for bribery , in continuous form, and trading in influence, as well as an individual, a representative of a commercial company, for bribery, according to DNA.
“On 09.08.2022 and 19.11.2022, the defendant Bădălău Niculae allegedly demanded from the mayor of the commune to enter into a contract regarding the “Reconstruction of the drinking water supply system…”, estimated at the cost of 7,071,925 lei without VAT, to a company managed by his relative, allowing to consider , that he has influence over a person in the management of the National Investment Company (CNI), whom he allegedly promised to induce to secure the financing of two projects submitted to this institution to the relevant city hall. In the period of 2021-2022, as part of the implementation of the contract that the same city hall concluded with the same commercial company, regarding the “Creation of a water supply network…”, the defendant Bădălău Niculae through another Person who is a suspect in this case, would offer the city the chairman more money so that in return he would continue to pay the relevant company, even for inappropriate work,” prosecutors argued.
According to the quoted source, in the same context, after Badalau allegedly promised the mayor on November 19, 2022 to transfer 7% of the value of the mentioned contract (4,903,959.97 lei without VAT), as well as from the future contract on November 25, 2022 because of that same entrepreneur, he wanted to get information about the same company in the relevant city hall, transferred 35,000 lei to the mayor, which is part of the promised amount. In total, defendant Badelau Nikulae allegedly promised the mayor a total of €170,000, which is 7% of the value of the two contracts.
