A one-year-old boy was eaten by a crocodile despite his father trying to fight off the 11-foot beast during the terrifying attack, IBTimes reports. The father was rescued by people after desperately trying to save his son and is being treated in hospital with serious head and body injuries.
The aggressive reptile jumped out of the water and grabbed the child while his father, Moherat, 45, was tying up a boat on a beach on the coast of Borneo.
Emergency services arrived shortly after traumatized witnesses watched the crocodile attack a father and son in Lahad Datu, a town on the Malaysian side of the island.
Fire and Rescue Service Chief Sumosoa Rashid said how Moherat was rescued by people who gathered at the scene after he suffered serious head and body injuries and was treated at Lahad Datu Hospital.
