Bistrita-Năsăud ISU pyrotechnicians were asked to intervene to defuse a real arsenal of unexploded ammunition discovered in the wall of a house in Mintiu, Nimigea commune, writes Bistrita Expres. It was a miracle that the explosion did not cause disaster from the large number of grenades found.
An arsenal of 10 live grenades, three weapons and 18 rounds of ammunition was discovered when they were about to demolish a house in which weapons and ammunition had been hidden for decades. The detection of a dangerous arsenal stopped the dismantling, the pyrotechnics were called ISU.
Since the recovered ammunition is very dangerous to handle, transport and store, pyrotechnicians decided to destroy it in a field near the place of discovery. “The mission was carried out with the support of the police, gendarmes and local authorities from the commune of Nimigea,” the ISU notes.
