“1,200 meters from the state border, above the Mokrani customs checkpoint, Belarusian border guards, together with servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, discovered a quadricopter flying at an altitude of about 300 meters,” – says in – a. the statement of the Belarusian State Border Guard, reports EFE and Agerpres agencies.

The drone was heading from the Ukrainian side of the border deep into the territory of Belarus and was shot down with the help of electronic weapons, the same agency reports.

It is also noted that the said drone had no identifying marks and was equipped with a video camera for conducting reconnaissance operations.

According to Minsk, on November 2 and 16, similar incidents took place on the Belarusian side of the border with Ukraine.

The Russian army currently has a group of about 9,000 soldiers stationed in Belarus, and during this time there are fears in Kyiv that Russia could again use Belarus as a staging ground, as it did at the beginning of the invasion launched on February 24, when Russian troops, introduced in Belarus under the pretext of conducting military exercises, attacked the northern part of Ukraine.
