The mayor of Sinaia, Vlad Oprea, told Agerpres on Friday that the facilities and buildings related to the Sinaia Teleferic were bought by the municipality for two million euros, and the main result of this investment will be that tourists will be able to have a unique card for the cable car transport

The facilities covered by this agreement are the cable cars that connect the center of the resort with the ski area, one going up to Kota 1400, the other from 1400 to Kota 2000, a relatively new chair lift leading from Kota 1400 to 2000, an old chairlift in Valya Dorului, an old ski lift also in Valya Dorului, a parking lot at the foot of the cable car in Sinaia and several buildings.

“Yes, the big news is that we are in the process of acquiring the assets of Sinaia Teleferic. (…) We won the auction, in the coming weeks we will sign the purchase agreement. From this moment on, we will have a unique ski pass for everyone cable cars from Sinaia,” said a message posted Friday on the Sinaia Gondola Facebook page.

Vlad Oprea claimed that investments of almost 5 million euros have been made this year, and Sinaia will have around 30 kilometers of slopes from this season, being the resort with the largest ski area in Romania.
